CUT!

COURSE GOAL

The Editing course, comprising one year of full-time study, gives basic training in professional editing techniques. Besides basic theory, the emphasis is on practical craftsmanship and compositional skills. Graduates of the course are qualified to start work as professional cutters or video editors, especially in news and magazine journalism.

Although post-production techniques are nowadays in a state of rapid flux, the editor's practical and creative skills have hardly changed. Knowledge of the fundamentals of video and sound recording techniques and aesthetic visual judgement are just as essential as an awareness of dramaturgical structure and a feeling for rhythm and pace.
